Here at the SMART business hub, we champion small businesses. With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve created this ‘shop small’ Christmas gift guide. These shops are all based in and around Bury St Edmunds, where we’re based.

Ingrida is based in Bury St Edmunds and creates beautiful and surreal wall art – mostly featuring cats and bees.

The Heart of Suffolk distillery is run by husband and wife team Martyn and Karen. They sell the most gorgeous sets and kits – perfect for Christmas and a nice alternative to the usual alcoholic “go-to’s”.

Instead of heading off to one of the big retailers for your Christmas cards, why not buy them from Gemma? As well as cards she also sells painted plant pots and original paintings.

If you’re looking for clothes then pop online to Juana Clothing, a cute indy store that sells t-shirts and tote bags inspired by nature. Our favourite is the cute root vegetable tee below (perfect for keen gardeners).

“The perfect marriage of art and chocolate” – Simon and Jessie create chocolates which are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat. They have some really exciting flavours including mince pie and mulled spice fruits. We can’t wait to give them a try!

Sarah sells cute prints and stationery, all illustrated and produced by her. A lot of her designs feature cats and we love how colourful and bright they are.

A touch of silver is a family-run business based in Suffolk. They specialise in equestrian and nature-themed jewellery. Their jewellery would make for a really thoughtful gift for someone special.

We hope you enjoyed reading our shop small Christmas gift guide.
